Fantastic Kid

What a fantastic kid Casey is. He went to Sushi yesterday and tonight he is at the Padre game with his dad. He loves to be out and about and I feel good about him seeing the world and listening to so many different things. I also like the fact that it usually makes him sleep longer ...:)! Here are a couple of great pics from yesterday (the one with his grandparents is phenomenal) and a video of Casey loving his exersaucer! I usually put him in this and then he is ready for a nap...usually! Love, Kelli

Where does the time go

I have days when I can't believe how much I love him. Today is one of those days and I really can't believe how fast it is going. He wants to hold his own bottle and I almost don't want to let him - but I will.

It's Funny

Surpise, he's tall

Today was Casey's 4 month appointment and all is well in Caseyland. He is 26.5 inches long which is the 93rd percentile and he is 15lbs 12oz which is the 63rd percentile. So, he is tall and skinny! He has a little eczema, which we knew but now have some cream to put on it and we will be getting rid of his cradle cap tonight with baby oil or olive oil and a shampoo.

Casey got all of his shots and only screamed for a minute. He was happy and smiling soon after. He is a hearty, healthy and happy kid. I think we are so lucky to have such a good natured kid.

We have the option to start cereal now but we are going to wait until 5 months. The ped said 5 months was best and based on everything I have read she is right. Start with rice cereal and then solids at 6 months. It is going by so fast. I am just so grateful to have the opportunity to be home so much to see it all happen. He is teething but not teeth in sight...just be a drool monkey for awhile.

Here are some more pictures of our fabulous boy!

Casey is exhausted

As I sit here and listen to Casey snore the morning away I am so happy to report that he had a fantastic time with his grandparents yesterday. He was a perfect gentleman at Sushi and appeared to be having a great time getting to know his family. His new toys rock and the hammer made him laugh out loud early this morning. It is so fun to see him become more alert and more aware every time we go out. He is so good natured and easy to be around - once he gets over the separation anxiety. It does make me feel good knowing someone wants me aound that much. I will have to commit that feeling to memory for when he is 12 and I am embarrassing him.

Well, here are some pictures I took of the night.

We have our first cold

or, at least Casey has his first cold. He was a bit fussier than usual yesterday and boom, today he has a runny nose and boogers. He is breathing so that I can hear it...cold. He is still happy as ever. Maybe not as many smiles as usual but still happy. He is definitely more into being cuddled today. I hope all his illnesses leave him this happy. So, I am trying to get him to take as many naps as usual. Having said that, I am going to take a nap while he is. Until later.

Three weeks in

Three weeks into work and I am doing ok. Very tired and things around the house are not getting done, but I am sure we will survive. Floors are not as clean as they should be and the bathroom/kitchen needs scrubbin, but Casey only catnaps. I will try to get to it this weekend, but I have to work on Saturday. Anywho, I am happy to be back at work and working on new projects and carving out my own niche again. I plan to really begin dissertation stuff asap. I am starting to worry that I wont ever finish and I beginn to panic. I think I need someone to be on my ass about it but that person doesnt exsist. I really need my hair done and some new clothes for my new body, but that aint happenin' either!

Back to Casey, that is why we are here right? Casey is laughing and giggling. He seems to be extremely happy and enjoyed his second Padre game with just dad. They had a great time and Casey really loves people watching. I love him to bits and pieces and so happy that he is here, even at 3:00 in the morning. I have to admit I have seen some really interesting movies since Casey has arrived.

Getting cuter by the day

You can see ferocious Patsy (the Shepherd) and Casey are fast friends. Also Casey loved his new Bumbo seat so he can sit up like a grown up!
